Each symposium is full of opportunities to make new connections. Beginning with the Opening Reception Sunday evening, all Breaks, Lunches and Meet and Greets, are a great way to get to know your extended radon community. In addition to scheduled events, we offer a Spouses Day Out for friends and family of attendees to get to know one another.
Spouses Day Out Event “Explore Denver’s Geological Features and Fine Art” – Red Rocks and the Denver Art Museum
Sponsored once again by the Heartland Chapter, the day begins at the hotel lobby at 8:30 AM, where you board a bus to to go the most photographed Colorado attraction, Red Rocks Amphitheater and geological surrounds.
Red Rocks is part of the Morrison Formation, the most fertile source of dinosaur fossils in North America! It is also a famous attraction for concert-goers and outdoors enthusiasts alike, with an abundance of hiking trails and the amphitheater. Visitors often see athletes and yogis making use of the amphitheater during the days and of course, concerts in the evenings! Natalie Ulbert of Professional Discount Supply (Vendor and Gold Sponsor) and Denver native will lead a guided walk. She has an MS in Wildlife Biology and is very knowledgeable in both geology and botany. The day continues as the bus takes you into the quaint downtown of Morrison, where you have an hour and half to shop and find lunch on your own.
The bus then heads to downtown Denver, where you are dropped at the final destination, the Denver Art Museum. (The bus portion ends at 1:00 pm when you are dropped off at the museum) The event includes your ticket to the museum.
Explore the museum on your own or with the group; the ticket includes a guided tour with a museum docent. You will make your way back to the hotel on their own (just 6 blocks away @ 1 mile) to prepare for the Night Out Event at the Wynkoop Brewery. PURCHASE YOUR GUEST TICKETS FOR THE SPOUSES DAY OUT
The Tuesday Night Out Event at Wynkoop Brewery
This fun party is included in all full registrations for attendees and is always a great time.
The Wynkoop is Denver’s original craft brewery founded in 1988. Almost thirty years later, Wynkoop is a Denver institution recognized for innovative, ballsy brewers who put just about anything in their beer, including Rocky Mountain oysters, gummy bears and green chiles. It’s known as the brewery that brewed a neighborhood because—without exaggeration—the Wynkoop helped catalyze the revitalization of LoDo.
To-date, the neighborhood is the heartbeat of the city, surrounded by iconic landmarks like Coors Field, Larimer Square, and the recently renovated Union Station across Wynkoop Street. We like to think it all began with beer.
Throughout the evening, you are welcome to tour the brewery facilities at no extra charge. PURCHASE YOUR GUEST TICKETS FOR THE NIGHT OUT
